Prof. Nikolay Mihaylov, PhD (Econ), Dipl. Eng.

Prof. Nikolay Mihaylov, PhD (Econ), Dipl. Eng. is а Chairman of the Supervisory Board of "Trace Group Hold" Plc and Chairman of the Public Council of “Trace for people” Foundation. He has been Head of “Roads and Transport Facilities” Department in the Faculty of Transport Engineering at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) – Sofia within three consecutive mandates (from 2012 until July, 2020).

In 1991 he received PhD educational and scientific degree defending a thesis on "Economic efficiency of capital investments in road construction”. He obtained management specializations from the University of Economics – Varna and from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. His teaching activities began in 2004 in UACEG. 

In 2016 Prof. Mihaylov defended at the Economic Research Institute in Bulgarian Academy of Sciences a dissertation for awarding PhD in Economics degree on "Corporate management as a driving force for improving the enterprise performance." 

Prof. Mihaylov is a Chairman of the Bulgarian Forum for Transport Infrastructure. He is a member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber. He is a Co-Chairman of the Investment Projects and Infrastructure Committee in the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria. Prof. Mihaylov is a Chairman of the Management Board of “Trace for people” foundation, member of “Burov” foundation Management Board, member of the Board of Trustees of “Krastyo Sarafov” National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts and member of the Board of Trustees of Trakia University – Stara Zagora. 

Prof. Mihaylov was awarded the “Burov Prize” for industrial management in 2010. He was distinguished with the Prize of the Federation of Highway Engineers and Consultants - "Engineer of the Year 2012". In 2015 he was awarded the Russian Order of "Prometheus" for outstanding contribution to science and education. 

Prof. Nikolay Mihaylov, PhD (Econ), Dipl. Eng. is awarded the honorary title of Doctor honoris causa for long-term cooperation and significant contribution to the infrastructure improvement of Trakia University, Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.
