Construction of waste depot in Stara Zagora

 "Construction of regional systems for waste management in the regions: Borovo (Byala, district Ruse), Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kostenets (Samokov), Levski (Nikopol), Lukovit, Panagyurishte, Pleven, Razlog, Stara Zagora and Yambol"

Purpose of the project: Achievement of high level of environmental protection in the region of Stara Zagora, in accordance to the national and European legislation in the field of waste management. The target of the project's realization is the reduction of the pollution in the municipalities in the target region of Stara Zagora. An increase of the separate collection of domestic waste and their recycling, implementation of effective and environmentally friendly system for modern waste management in the region will be achieved.

Main activities and stages of the project implementation:

Stage 1 – includes the activities, eligible for funding by OP "Environment 2007-2013":

Site 1: Construction of Regional center for waste management – Stara Zagora

Sub-site 1.1: Regional depot for non-hazardous waste - town of Stara Zagora

Sub-site 1.2: Recycling municipal center

Sub-site 1.3: Installation for separation and indoor composting

Site 2: Construction of transfer station for domestic waste – Kazanlak, servicing the municipalities of Kazanlak, Pavel Banya and Maglizh

Site 3: Construction of transfer station for domestic waste – Gurkovo, servicing the municipalities of Gurkovo, Nikolaevo and Tvarditsa

Site 4: Construction of transfer station for domestic waste – Galabovo, servicing the municipality of Galabovo

Location: The site, determined for the construction of Regional waste management center – Stara Zagora is located outside of the urbanized territory, in the land territory of village of Rakitnitsa, municipality of Stara Zagora. The site for construction of transfer stations are at the territories of the municipalities of Kazanlak, Gurkovo and Galabovo.
