The new route of the highway "Trakia", which is part of Corridor № 8 connects Chirpan with Stara Zagora and provides a direct connection between Sofia and Stara Zagora. The Improved road conditions and the removal of transit traffic increases driving safety and ride comfort, reduces the distance, travel time and transportation operating costs.

Contractor for the project is "PSI", which is part of the "Trace Group Hold" PLC. Dozens Bulgarian companies were involved as subcontractors. Employer is the Executive Agency "Roads" and the supervisor and engineer - MottMacDonald.

During the construction of SubsectionII records were achieved thanks to which it was completed in a very short time. Per day were laid over 4,700 tons asphalt. Big overpass railway line Sofia - Burgas (2 x 150 m) was built in less than 180 days, and the last overpass at km 209 +300 wes executed for thirty days (from 20.08.2007 to 20.09.2007).

    Fence - 84,000 m;
    Elastic fence - 135,000 m;
    Road markings - 45,000 m ²;
    Landscaping - trees and shrubs - 60 000;
    Grass - 247,018 m ².
