Completion of the construction of "Hemus" Highway

Project: "Hemus" Highway - construction of connection with Sofia ring road – “Yana” road junction (Trans-European transport corridor IV)

Section: "Sofia ring road -Yana road junction" km 0+000 - km 8+460

Funding: Operational program "Transport" 2007-2013, priority axis 2 "Development of the road infrastructure of the Trans-European and major national transport axis".

Site contractor - Consortium "Hemus A2" with leading partner "Trace Group Hold" PLC and partners "Constructor Engineering", Croatia and "SK-12 Patstroi" AD. The supervision is performed by "Transconsult-BG" OOD.

The development covers the direct trace of highway "Hemus" from Sofia ring road /km 0+000/ to Yana road junction at km 8+500, where it connects to the existing highway.

The project starts at km 0+000 – where Sofia ring road and Botevgradsko shose are crossing, the highway is developed in new terrain, at km 0+833 underground connection crosses the highway, in the section between km 1+700 and km 2+500, the trace of the highway is crossing water obstacle and settlers, produced as a result of extraction of big quantities of aggregates, in the area of the concession for extraction of aggregate materials at the trace of highway "Hemus", that was operational up to 2010, crosses Lesnovska River at km 3+040, develops parallel to the dike of the tailings pond at Chelopechene, crosses the roads "Dolni Bogrov – Botunets" at 4+800 and "Botunets – Gorni Bogrov" at km 6+809 and connects to the already constructed "Hemus" highway through “Yana” road junction at km 8+500.
