The highway is expected to be put into operation by the end of April
On March 31, Trace Group Hold PLC put the last layer of asphalt on a lot of E75 highway in South Serbia, being under construction by the company. The section with a total length of 4.7 km is part of Corridor 10 and is situated in Grdelica valley, between Predejane and Caricina Dolina locations. In front of Serbian media, engineer Daniel Maljenovic of Trace, head of the road section of the project, said that the asphalt laying is fully completed.
He explained that finishing works are currently being carried out: rehabilitation of the slope and the supporting wall, humidification of slopes and embankments, erosion protection, horizontal marking, vertical signaling, portal frames, protective elastic fence, as well as landscaping. It is expected by mid April to be completed all works on this extremely complex section so that by the end of the month the project to be delivered to the investor.
On April 1, 2019, the Project Employer: Koridori Srbije /Corridors of Serbia/, officially announced that the asphalt of the entire highway in Grdelica region was completed and the route is expected to be put into exploitation by the end of the month. Aleksandar Senic, Construction Director at Koridori Srbije, stressed out that the execution of the highway through the Grdelica gorge is probably the biggest construction challenge in Serbia in 21st century. He recalled that the total track is 26.3 kilometers long, has 33 bridge structures, 9 large support structures, dozens of small facilities and includes also a regulation of a local river along four kilometers.
