Evtimii" Blvd. to "Cherni Vrah" Blvd. It has a length of 2,6 km and 3 metro stations.

The expansion of the capital's metro is realized as per OP "Transport" of the European union. The groundbreaking ceremony was conducted on 14 December 2008. The project is funded by the European fund of regional development through Operational program "Transport" 2007-2013, by priority axis 3 "Improvement of inter modality of transportation of passengers and cargo".

The maximum value of the gratuitous financial help by OP "Transport" is 185,19 mil. EURO. The real total value of the project, according to the signed performance contracts is 247,146 mil. EURO Additional funding of the project, equaling to 61,952 mil. EURO is provided by Sofia municipality.

The section, included in the project has a length of 6,4 km and 7 metro stations. The trace covers one of the most loaded directions of the city and connects the central city part with the main transport junctions in the capital - central railway station and central bus station, main incoming and outgoing road arteries and with the first metro line and big living areas.

Metro station "National Palace of Culture" is located under the National Palace of Culture. It will service the biggest cultural center in the country as well the heavily urbanized area around "Vitosha" Blvd. and "Patriarh Evtimii" Blvd.

"European Union" metro station is located in the beginning of "Lozenets" living area, close to the loaded junction of "Cherni Vrah" Blvd. "Arsenalski" Blvd. and "St. "Naum" Blvd. Part of the construction of metro stations "NPC" and "Saint Naum" as well as the tunnels between them are constructed together with he construction of NPC.

The last metro station of the section - "James Boucher" is located under the lane of Cherni Vrah Blvd. in the densely constructed area of "Lozenets" quarter, between its crossing of  "James Boucher" Blvd. and "Elin Vrah" Str. Due to the significant slope of the trace between "Saint Naum" metro station and "James Boucher" metro station, the platform of the last station in the section and the tunnels after it, for trains' direction of movement change are located at depth between 10 - 12 m and above them the construction of an underground parking lot with about 620 parking places is provided.
